Beginner’s Mind

An intro to Yoga for Beginner’s

Sunday Sept 15th, 22nd, 29th, Oct 6th / 5:00pm - 6:30pm

One of the many questions that arise with a yoga practice is: am I doing this right?

The short answer is yes, the more in-depth answer is: likely. The truth is yoga is for everyone, however the definition of a successful yoga practice might vary depending on the participant. And guess what, you are in luck because The Yard is offering a comprehensive beginner's series that will leave you empowered and excited to deepen your practice. This four week series aims to unveil the curtain behind the mystique of yoga so you might reap the rewards of a vigorous movement practice: spacious inner stillness (don't worry- we'll discuss this, too!).

In 4 weeks we will break down the 4 directions that the spine can move: forward, back, side to side and rotation as an anchor for traditional movement and shapes. You'll be equipped with basic anatomy along with sanskrit terms. We'll have time to discuss and practice classical breath work (prānāyām) as well as meditation. You will leave each session full from practice and hungry for more.

This series is for complete novice practitioners as well as seasoned pros hoping to reinvigorate a soft torch into a roaring flame so sign up today and let's see what yoga is really all about. More importantly: what you are capable of.
